EMDC head is out

The president and CEO of Eastern Maine Development Corporation has left his position after being on the job roughly eight months.

Charles E. Webb and the EMDC board of directors mutually agreed that a leadership change was needed, Chairman Ralph Harvey told the Bangor Daily News.

Webb, who was 64 when he started last October, came to Bangor from Orchard Park, N.Y., after a long economic development career to help improve the economies of Penobscot, Piscataquis, Hancock, Washington, Waldo and Knox counties as head of the EMDC, the paper reported.
