New tenant at former G-P mill

Red Shield Environmental LLC is welcoming another tenant to the former Gerogia-Pacific mill in Old Town.

Old Town Logistics will arrive next week and will operate the warehouses and allow nearby mills to store pulp and paper products, according to the Bangor Daily News.

Meanwhile, Red Shield, which consists of a group of private investors, said its biorefinery operation, which would produce ethanol in conjunction with the University of Maine, could be up and running by 2009 if it all goes as planned and it receives a $30 million matching grant it applied for last week from the Department of Energy, the paper said. Red Shield has already invested more than $2 million to begin the ethanol operation, the paper said.
