New hires

Dead River Co., a propane and heating oil provider in South Portland, hired Jodie Griffith as human resources manager.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust hired Zackary Haynes as branch relationship manager for the bank’s locations on Union Street and Stillwater Avenue in Bangor. Most recently, Haynes was a mortgage loan officer at Key Bank.

The University of Maine at Presque Isle hired Craig Cormier as executive director of university advancement. Cormier was previously senior grants consultant at Northern Light Health.

Gulf of Maine Research Institute in Portland hired Nana Annan as COO. Annan was previously COO at Harlem Children Zone.

University Credit Union in Orono hired Lauren Cornelio as a member of its team of community engagement managers.

Northeast Hearing & Speech in Portland hired Cameron Garrett as executive director. Previously, Garrett was executive director of Islands Community Medical Services on Vinalhaven.

Channel 8 and Maine’s CW in Portland hired Lynn Dziedzic as general sales manager. Most recently, Dziedzic served as senior director of sales at WSYM-TV in Lansing, Mich.

Hancock Lumber in Casco hired Dan Lauzé as Retail Operations Center project manager.

Maine Center for Entrepreneurs in Portland hired Naomi Neville as program manager for the organization’s Cultivator Food Accelerator. Neville was previously sales director at Allagash Brewing Co.

The Maine Community Foundation in Ellsworth hired Kim Boucher as nonprofit agency fund officer. Boucher was most recently a philanthropy officer in corporate and foundation relations at Northern Light Health Foundation.

Goodwill Northern New England in Gorham hired Dave Robison as vice president of retail. Robison was COO at Southern Oregon Goodwill Industries in Medford, Ore.

Preti Flaherty, a law firm in Portland, hired Matthew Worthen as a director in the firm’s real estate and finance group.

Disability Rights Maine in Augusta promoted Lauren Wille to legal director. Wille was previously managing attorney for the organization.

The University of Maine at Presque Isle promoted Candace Elliott to assistant director of alumni affairs and Annual Fund. Elliott was an administrative specialist in the University Advancement office.

The Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission in Saco promoted Stephanie Carver to executive director. Carver had served as transportation director since 2020.

The city of Auburn promoted Denis D’Auteuil to assistant city manager.

ATX Advisory Services, a technology consulting firm in Biddeford, promoted Jon Decowski to partner.

Appointments

The National Association of Secretaries of State elected Shenna Bellows as eastern region vice president. Bellows serves as Maine’s secretary of state.

The Maine Real Estate & Development Association elected Shannon Richards as president for 2024-26. Richards is the founder of Hay Runner, a real estate development co. in Portland. In addition, Gary Vogel of Drummond Woodsum, Jennifer Small of Malone Commercial Brokers and Jason Favreau of BerryDunn were elected vice presidents; Mark Stasium, Camden National Bank, treasurer; and Shelly Clark, who serves full time as the association’s executive director, secretary.

The Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine in Portland added Keyla Alston-Griffin, Cameron Peden, Katie Porter, Rose Splint and Maya Williams to its board of directors. Alston-Griffin is founder of the Digital Philanthropy Collective; Peden, senior vice president of people and resource development, United Way of Southern Maine; Porter, employment attorney, Pierce Atwood LLP; Splint, consultant; and Williams, poet, writer and poet laureate. Achievements

Consolidated Communications, a national broadband provider that serves parts of Maine, announced that Fidium Fiber, the company’s all fiber internet brand, won CNET’s “Best Internet Providers of 2024.”

The Trust to Conserve Northeast Forestlands, an Augusta-based advocate for sustainable timber harvesting practices, said that Tanbark Molded Fiber Products in Saco achieved Forest Stewardship Council chain of custody certification for the wood pulp-based packaging it produces at its facility.

Katahdin Trust in Houlton named Lindsay Corey, client services support specialist, as its 2023 “Top of the Mountain Commitment to Community Award” recipient during an employee appreciation event held at the Ktaadn Resorts Event Center in Millinocket. Pierce Atwood, a law firm in Portland, said that for the ninth consecutive year, Chambers High Net Worth recognized the firm’s trusts and estates practice group with a top “Band 1” ranking in Maine. In addition, Molly Liddell, trusts and estates practice chair, and Barbara Wheaton, partner, both received “Band 1” rankings and Griff Leschefske, partner, received “Up and Coming” recognition.

The John T. Gorman Foundation in Portland said it received a “2024 Secretary’s Award for Public-Philanthropic Partnerships” from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and Council on Foundations. The foundation received the recognition for its role in supporting a community partnership that is bringing new housing, economic opportunity and millions of dollars in public and private investment to Lewiston’s Tree Streets neighborhood.

The TramutoPorter Foundation, a nonprofit organization in Ogunquit, announced its “2024 Compassionate Leadership Award” recipients. Maine-based recipients included Heidi Jane Linder, Bangor High School graduate, and Nathan Bolduc, Wells High School graduate, who were named “2024 Compassionate Leadership Scholarship and Mentoring Awards” winners and Camp Sunshine in Casco, who was named a “2024 Compassionate Leadership of The Year Award” winner.
