New hires

ClearH2O, a Westbrook-based provider of hydration, nutrition and medication gel delivery products to the animal research and poultry industries, hired Dan Guimond as CFO. Most recently, Guimond was vice president of finance at Schlotterbeck and Foss.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust hired Will Hatt as senior vice president, community banking relationship manager. Hatt was previously with Camden National Bank.

Murray Plumb & Murray, a law firm in Portland, hired Nicholas Bernate as a senior associate in its litigation group. Previously, Bernate was a shareholder of Clement, Fitzpatrick & Kenworthy in Santa Rosa, Calif.

The Pine Tree Legal Assistance in Portland hired Tom Fritzsche as executive director, effective Sept. 6. Fritzsche was previously executive director for the Milk with Dignity Standards Council.

The Diocese of Portland hired Mike Sullivan as development director. Sullivan was development officer for Thomas College in Waterville.

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works in Bath hired Ray Steen as vice president, human resources. Steen was previously Senior Director, Human Resources at the Armaments and Energetics line of business at Ordinance and Tactical Systems.

Maine Community Bank in Westbrook hired Anna Astvatsaturian Turcotte as senior vice president, director of compliance.

SKILLS, a nonprofit organization based in St. Albans that provides services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, hired Kristin Overton as executive director. Overton, who has 15 years in nonprofit leadership roles, was COO for Spectrum Generations.

Spectrum Enterprise in Portland hired Lou Davenport as sales manager of its enterprise sales team.

The Maine Crafts Association and Shop Maine Craft hired Alison Godburn as executive director of both organizations.

Promotions

Atlantic Federal Credit Union in South Portland promoted Christopher McGorrill to chief experience officer and Robyn King to director of marketing.

Goodwill NeuroRehab in Scarborough promoted Mackenna Murtagh to clinical director. Murtagh was previously the organization’s neuropsychology post-doctoral resident.

Malone Commercial Brokers in Portland promoted Jennifer Small to partner.

Avesta Housing, a Portland-based developer of affordable housing, promoted Rebecca Hatfield to president and CEO, effective Sept. 6. Hatfield was senior vice president of real estate.

Maine Behavioral Healthcare in South Portland promoted Maria Hadjiyane to COO. Hadjiyane was vice president of ambulatory services.

Haley Ward Inc., an employee-owned engineering, environmental and surveying consulting firm in Bangor, promoted Travis Noyes to COO. Noyes previously led the firm’s engineering division. In addition, Scott Miller was promoted municipal infrastructure director and Brian Milisci to land development director in its engineering division.

Appointments

Northern Light Health in Brewer re-elected Kathy Corey as the chair of its board of directors for a third one-year term and John Ryan as vice chair. Corey is former owner of Day’s Jewelers while Ryan is executive vice president and chief counsel at Temple University Health System. The board also added James Fullwood to the board to serve as the physician member of the Sebasticook Valley Hospital active medical staff for a single three-year term.

Verrill, a law firm in Portland, announced that Robert Ruesch, partner, was elected to the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law’s Governing Committee for a three-year term.

Achievements

Incisal Edge dental magazine named Benjamin Lawlor among its 2022 “40 Under 40” dentists in the U.S. Lawlor leads the Maine Dentistry office in Gray.

Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine in Auburn introduced Apple Corps, a new volunteer recognition program honoring volunteers for their service. “JoAnn Pike Volunteer Service Award,” recognizing 500-plus volunteer hours, winners were Claire Begin, Doug Boyce, Dot Gibbert and Chase Nuttall; named in the “McIntosh” category for donating over 200 hours in one year were Kenneth Holt and Thomas Torrey; and “Courtland” category honorees, donating over 100 hours in one year, were Timothy Diehl, Ned Dubois, Brenda Leighton, William Mungall and Geraldine Tinkham.

Ernst & Young LLP named Pete Roberts, Origin BJJ LLC in Farmington as a winner of its “Entrepreneur Of The Year New England Award.”

GHM Agency in Waterville announced that Lee Cabana is now a licensed insurance consultant in Maine and that Chad Roger, a member of the firm’s business insurance team, completed the Workers Compensation Professional certification through the American Society of Workers’ Compensation Professionals.

The American Association for State and Local History recognized the Maine Historical Society in Portland with an “Award of Excellence” for Begin Again: reckoning with intolerance in Maine exhibit.

Geiger, a promotional products distributor in Lewiston, presented its “1st Quarter Geiger Star Awards” to Chris Gagne, Christine Knowlton and Renu Pal.

Friends of Woodfords Corner in Portland said it was designated as an “Affiliate Main Street America” by Main Street America.

Evergreen Credit Union in Portland announced that it was named as a “Best-In-State Credit Unions 2022 for Maine” by Forbes.

Thomas College in Waterville said that Amanda Nguyen was named one of “20 to Watch” by The International Society for Technology in Education for her work as an innovate educator creating transformational learning experiences for students. Nguyen is program director for Centers of Innovation at the college.

Tracy Coughlin, marketing director at Marina Holdings, which includes Yarmouth Boat Yard, Moose Landing Marina and Freedom Boat Club of Maine, was named to Boating Industry’s “Woman Making Waves Top-30 List.”

Woodfords Family Services, a social service agency in Westbrook, said that Mindy Williams received one of the “National Recruiter of the Year Awards” at the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Virtual Summit in May. Williams is the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids recruiter for the agency.

Katahdin Bankshares Corp., the parent company of Katahdin Trust Co. in Houlton, announced that it was named one of American Banker’s “Top 200 Community Banks in the U.S.” based on financial performance for the third consecutive year.

Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland announced that it was a recipient of a “2022 Outstanding Patient Experience Award” from Healthgrades, which reviews over 3,000 hospitals nationwide annually. It’s the third straight year the hospital was honored.
