New hires

Friends of Acadia in Bar Harbor hired Lori Schaefer as communications director.

Portside Real Estate Group in Falmouth hired Ellen Domingos, Noly Lopez and Sarah Singer as associate brokers.

Secretary of State Shenna Bellows announced the hiring of Joann Bautista as deputy secretary of state. Bautista, who is Maine’s first Latina deputy secretary of state, most recently worked as the advocacy director for Preble Street and special projects manager for the American Civil Liberties Union.

Criterium Engineers in Freeport hired Gregory Hogan as director of operations. Hogan, a licensed, professional civil engineer and project manager with 30 years of experience, was previously associate director for planning and construction at the University of New England.

Brann & Isaacson, a law firm in Lewiston, hired William Townshend as an associate. Townshend, who will primarily work in the estate planning practice, but will also be involved in tax and corporate law, was with Withersworldwide (Withers Bergman LLP) in Greenwich, Conn.

Camden National Bank hired Brandon Boey as senior vice president, in house counsel and Bank Secrecy Act officer. Boey previously served as managing counsel at Unum.

The Kennebunkport Resort Collection hired Ophelia Muradian as general manager of Hidden Pond and the Tides Beach Club, Emily Nelson as general manager of Cape Arundel Inn & Resort and John Nickulas as assistant general manager of the Kennebunkport Inn, Boathouse Waterfront Hotel + Restaurant, Lodge on the Cove, Yachtsman Hotel & Marina Club and Grand Hotel. Muradian was previously director of guest experiences at The Newbury Boston, Nelson was guest services supervisor for Auberge Resorts Collection’s White Barn Inn & Spa in Kennebunkport and Nickulas was credit manager for the Royal Sonesta Boston.

CourseStorm, a software company in Orono, hired Aiden Threadgood as customer success support specialist and Caitlin Salzberg and Doug Stevens as sales development representatives.

Northern Light Medical Weight Management in Bangor hired Anna Welcome as an obesity medicine physician. Welcome specializes in understanding the challenges patients with obesity face and partners with patients to manage their individualized weight loss plans.

Portside Real Estate Group hired Caitlyn Briere, Nick Clark, Kristina Pearson, Eliza Rauscher, Anne Banfield and Cassandra Binette as sales agents and Jen Tabb, Maureen Adams and Alex Diaz as associate brokers.

Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford hired Uche Onuoha as medical director for WorkWell, the organization’s occupational health program.

Eastern Maine Development Corp. in Bangor hired Thatien Munyaneza as director of finance. Munyaneza has 20 years of experience in accounting, financial management and administration for international nonprofit and educational entities.

Bowman Constructors in Newport hired Wilson King as project manager. King, who has 15 years of construction industry experience, was previously construction manager with Associated Builders Inc.

The Portland Police Department hired Andrea Taatjes as alternative response liaison, William Burns as substance use disorder liaison and David Singer as media and community relations liaison.

Mission Broadband, a consulting firm in Bangor, hired Jean Santora as project manager. Santora most recently served as a product development manager at OTELCO.

Northeast Bank in Lewiston hired Matthew Colpitts as vice president, municipal deposit relationship manager. Colpitts was previously deputy state treasurer for the state of Maine.

Promotions

Brann & Isaacson, a law firm in Lewiston, named Michael Carey as partner. Carey’s practice focuses on municipal law, the state and local taxation of information technology and telecommunications services and civil litigation.

R.M. Davis, a wealth management firm in Portland, promoted Natalie Solotoff to director of wealth management, Denise Vigneault to vice president of human resources, Michele Whitmore to vice president of portfolio administration and Michael Wood to shareholder and a member of the firm’s board of directors.

Benchmark, a construction company in Westbrook, promoted Jason Jendrasko to vice president. Jendrasko was previously business development manager.

CourseStorm, a software company in Orono, promoted Becky Willough to customer success team manager and Chris Suggs to senior sales development representative.

Appointments

Hospice of Southern Maine in Scarborough added Mark Wrona to its board of directors. Wrona is a palliative care physician at New England Cancer Specialists.

The Frances Perkins Center in Newcastle added Carl Nold and Keith Mestrich to its board of directors. Nold is nationally recognized as a leader for not-for-profit cultural organizations while Mestrich recently retired as president and CEO of Amalgamated Bank, America’s largest socially responsible financial institution.

Bigelow Laboratory in East Boothbay said that President Deborah Bronk was elected as president of The Oceanography Society for a two-year term beginning in 2023.

Achievements

Norway Savings Bank said it achieved an “Outstanding” rating on its latest Community Reinvestment Act examination, administered by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. This is the second consecutive examination cycle that the bank achieved the rating.

Geiger, a promotional products distributor in Lewiston, said that Ronald Seguin, Sue Seminara and Paul Cline earned PPAI Certification demonstrating a commitment to both business excellence and continual professional growth.

Stephen Peck, a realtor at RE/MAX Shoreline in Portland, had his interior design work of a retreat on a pond’s edge in Maine featured in an article and video in Dwell Magazine.
