Norway Savings Bank has hired Melissa Kraft as a vice president of project management.
Kraft has worked in the digital space for many years, specializing in content management systems and managing projects that enhance customer and client experience.
“I feel like I was born to manage projects. I’m lucky that I found my calling fairly early on in my career,” said Kraft. “The meaningful common thread in the nuance of my career to date is the need to solve challenges to make people’s lives better.”
Prior to joining Norway Savings, she served as senior digital project manager, lead project manager, senior project manager, senior web manager, and delivery manager, as well as in other roles at various companies and organizations across the U.S.
“Melissa is highly regarded for her ability to oversee projects and teams, efficiently manage multiple projects, and provide process and structure while engaging team members to perform at the highest levels,” said Richard St. Pierre, senior vice prescient and senior finance officer at Norway Savings.
Kraft, a Newfoundland native, earned a bachelor’s degree in English writing from George Mason University. She holds a certification as a Scrum master, indicating a proficiency in project management.
“The people I met at NSB and the fact that we are a community bank doing real and sustainable good for that community was a huge factor in my choice to work here,” said Kraft. “It is not always true that you can find a position that you are able to visualize the positive impact you can make as a team member. I feel like I have found that gift at NSB.”
Norway Savings Bank has 24 branches and was ranked No. 7 among the largest Maine-based banks, based on assets of $1.83 billion on June 30, 2024, according to the 2025 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
