Office building added to Jordan's Meats plan

The development group planning to remake the former Jordan's Meats plant in downtown Portland recently added a 122,000-square-foot office building to the mix.

A representative of the Procaccianti Group, which is heading up PME 1 Limited Partnership, the development group, told the Portland Planning Board last week that its scaled-back plan and decision to include the office building reflects "changes in the business market," according to The Forecaster.

The group's original $110 million development plan called for more than 200 hotel rooms, 100-plus high-end condominiums and retail space. The group scrapped those plans late last year, but the project was revived in much smaller form this spring.

City officials are considering the newly revised plans.
