Operations restart at Gouldsboro lobster plant

Around 90 workers are processing lobster in the former Stinson Seafood plant in Gouldsboro that was shuttered early last year.

The crew is testing processing operations for a partnership between Massachusetts-based East Coast Seafood and Connecticut-based Garbo Lobster, operating under the name Maine Fair Trade Lobster, according to the Bangor Daily News.

Trial runs began last week. The company says it hopes to continue redeveloping the Gouldsboro plant through the summer and envisions employing up to 300 people by the summer of 2016.
