Otten makes it official

Les Otten, an entrepreneur and former CEO of American Skiing Co., has officially launched his campaign to run for governor as a Republican.
Otten announced he was considering running for governor in June, and yesterday held events in Scarborough and Hermon to kick off his campaign, according to the Bangor Daily News. His campaign will be privately funded, and his platform will be job creation and reducing government spending, he said at the Hermon event.
Otten, who has never held a public office, is currently the CEO of Maine Energy Systems in Bethel, which installs wood-pellet heating systems, and was chairman of the Governor's Wood to Energy Task Force.
