Oxford Networks acquires firms, opens data center
Lewiston-based Oxford Networks is establishing a commercial data services center at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station through the partial acquisition of tech startup Resilient Tier V. Oxford Networks has also acquired Falmouth-based IT consulting firm Norton Lamb & Co., which will provide client management, according to a press release.
Oxford Networks acquired Resilient's commercial assets, while Resilient retains its government data services work, according to the Bangor Daily News. Oxford Networks in September announced it would invest $5 million in Resilient Tier V to help create a data transmission, storage and networking facility. Oxford Networks President and CEO Craig Gunderson told the paper the company invested less than that, but still a few million, and is a minority owner of the company. Through the acquisitions, Oxford is adding 20 people to its current staff of 120, including Matt Jacobson, who was Resilient's executive vice president of corporate development. The former Maine & Co. head and gubernatorial candidate will serve as Oxford's executive vice president of sales, according to the press release.
The data center will offer server space, IT, disaster recovery, data storage and virtualization services.
