Pen Bay Healthcare hires new CEO

Pen Bay Healthcare in Knox County has hired Idaho executive Wade Johnson as its new CEO, effective as of February.
Johnson is currently CEO of Weisner Memorial Hospital in Idaho, where he is credited with improving hospital-wide quality indicators and finances, according to the VillageSoup Gazette. He replaces Roy Hitchings, who served as CEO for more than 13 years and announced his retirement in April. Pen Bay Healthcare includes Pen Bay Medical Center and Pen Bay Physicians and Associates, both in Rockport, and Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care & Hospice in Belfast, Newcastle and Rockland. Pen Bay is a member of Portland-based MaineHealth.
