Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution has promoted Joe Reardon to a retail banking manager position.
Readon will oversee all market managers and lead the Saco team; he brings several years of experience to the role.
Reardon will move to the Saco branch in July.
“In my new role, I will have the opportunity to branch out and visit all of the SBSI locations,” said Reardon. “I’m grateful to have another opportunity to get out of my comfort zone, get to know more of my co-workers, our customers and the community.”
Reardon joined SBSI as a teller at the Old Orchard Beach branch in 2006. He held many positions as he gained more experience and moved through the ranks.
He spent 12 years with the Old Orchard Beach team before leading the Westbrook, South Portland and Portland teams.
“When I started at the bank I was spoiled working in Old Orchard,” said Reardon. “It’s where I grew up. There was a comfort in that, which I enjoyed for 12 years. When the time came to get out and explore other communities, it was exciting getting to know what else was out there. I am really looking forward to working in my current hometown, Saco. My kids have grown up here and it will be exciting to get to know more about the people who live and work in town."
Reardon will take over for Lynne Belanger, who is beginning her transition to retirement.
Belanger dedicated 46 years to SBSI and said she looks forward to spending time with family and exploring Maine’s many biking trails with her husband. She also plans to remain deeply involved in the heart of the community, as helping people was always at the forefront of each role she took on.
Saco & Biddeford Savings was ranked No. 13 among the financial institutions with the largest market share in the 2023 Mainebiz Book of Lists, based on assets as of June 30, 2022.
Founded in 1827, the bank has branches in Saco, Biddeford, Old Orchard Beach, Portland, Scarborough, South Portland and Westbrook and 196 employees.
