Sebago Technics, a South Portland-based engineering and land development consulting firm, has leased additional office space in the city to accommodate recent growth and acquisitions.

The employee-owned company added 6,001 square feet at 75 John Roberts Road, bringing the total footprint to 23,541 square feet. The lease was handled by Greg Boulos, a partner with real estate firm the Boulos Co.

Despite uncertainties related to the pandemic and economy, Sebago Technics has been on an upswing. It recently acquired Titcomb Associates of Falmouth and Bath, which provides surveying services, and Sawyer Engineering and Surveying, an engineering, surveying and septic design services company in Bridgton.

In March, when Mainebiz interviewed CEO Mark Adams, Sebago Technics employed 80 people, including 18 licensed professional engineers, five registered landscape architects and five professional land surveyors. The firm's 2020 revenue was $11.5 million.

Now Sebago Technics is actively seeking to expand its market, with more hiring and acquisitions in the works.

“Sebago Technics is excited about the future of our 100% employee-owned business,” Adams said in a news release Tuesday. “Our reputation, diversity of services, size, and responsiveness ensure ample opportunities and sustainability. Whether organic or through acquisition, we expect to see continued growth and are looking for talented professionals who want to be part of our successful, ownership culture.”

Even during the pandemic, Sebago Technics has found benefits to safely working in a physical office.

“We believe that a flexible office policy is essential in the workplace today. However, for our collaborative culture there are great benefits to a physical space that’s adaptive, organized for our work structure, and provides a place for the important social nature of teamwork.” Adams said.
