The fifth annual Green Home + Energy Show will be held April 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Point Community Center in South Portland.
The show will have a day of programming and home and energy exhibitors featuring products and services such as electric vehicles, electric yard tools and eco-friendly landscaping practices. There will be 18 workshops, case studies and demonstrations, as well as food trucks and Girl Scout cookies and baked goods.
Workshops topics will include creative ways to reinvest in property with an accessory dwelling unit, pre-fab construction for high performance homes, retrofitting a foundation, planting for wildlife and accessing Efficiency Maine rebates. The programs are included with admission.
An Electric Vehicle Expo is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ticket sales will benefit the Ecology School at Riverbend Farm in Saco, a nonprofit school with a focus on sustainability.
The presenting sponsor is LaPlante Home Services. Other lead sponsors include Dave’s World, Mitsubishi Electric, Ecoheat Maine, Evergreen Home Performance, Hannaford Supermarkets, ReVision Energy and Eldredge Lumber.
The event is put on by Green & Healthy Maine Homes magazine, which is published by the Westbrook-based SunriseGuide LLC.
