“I’m honored to join the St. Mary’s nursing and clinical teams to help ensure we’re always striving to improve the quality, safety and delivery of patient care,” Rollins said in a news release. “I plan to heavily focus on reinforcing St. Mary’s high standard for clinical excellence, which will directly impact positive patient outcomes.”

Previously, Rollins worked for 35 years at Bridgton Hospital in Bridgton, with 20 years in leadership roles, including vice president of nursing and patient care services, director of nursing and patient care services, inpatient nurse manager and emergency department manager.

Rollins holds a master’s degree in nursing, leadership and management from Western Governors University in Millcreek, Utah, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Joseph College in Standish.

St. Mary's is part of Covenant Health, an Andover, Mass.-based Catholic regional health care system with three acute hospitals, 10 skilled nursing facilities and four assisted living facilities.

“I’m pleased to welcome Jill, who has extensive experience in clinical operations to our health system and nursing team,” Cindy Segar-Miller, president of St. Mary’s Health System and senior vice president of Covenant Health.

“She has excellent leadership skills and proven process implementation expertise. I’m confident Jill will also make certain our mission and values continue to be intrinsic to the exemplary care we deliver.”

Founded in 1888, what is now St. Mary's was the first hospital in Lewiston-Auburn and the first Catholic hospital in Maine. St. Mary's Health System currently employs 990 people and comprises the regional medical center on Campus Avenue, near Bates College, as well as offices, labs and clinics across Lewiston and Auburn.

The medical center is the fourth-largest hospital in the state, according to the 2024 Mainebiz Book of Lists, based on the number of acute care beds. St. Mary’s has 233.
