A popular event space, concert venue and wedding hall in Gray, Stonehedge, burned to the ground Tuesday afternoon.
No one was injured, according to multiple reports, but at least one music event has been canceled.
Stonehedge, at 342 West Gray Road about 3.5 miles from the center of Gray, is a former family farm whose barn has been a gathering place for decades. It sits on a 100-acre homestead owned by Russell Jeffords.
Gray Fire Chief Kurt Elkanich said the blaze was reported at 3:37 p.m., but the barn was fully engulfed in flames by the time fire crews arrived. The cause of the fire was still under investigation Tuesday evening.
On Saturday, Stonehedge was scheduled to host a Portland-based Americana band, Silver Heels, followed by a late-night dance party with El Malo, another local group, which plays a mix of funk, hip-hop, salsa and rock.
