Sunday River condo assoc. sues mfgr.
A Sunday River ski resort condo association has filed a lawsuit against Oldcastle Precast Inc., a national company with an office in Auburn, for breach of contract, negligence and fraud.
Fall Line Condominium Association filed the suit in Oxford County Superior Court against the precast manufacturing company, alleging a cistern bought from Oldcastle in 2008 was cracked and missing pieces, and that further damage to the cistern during installation was the result of Oldcastle "[allowing] the cistern to be unloaded and assembled by personnel insufficiently trained and skilled in its assembly." The damage led to leakage and bacteria contamination in the 128-unit association's water supply, according to the Sun Journal.
The suit alleges Fall Line suffered $100,000 in damages from repairs, loss of rental income and loss of reputation, according to the paper.
