The County Federal Credit Union has promoted Colleen Brennan to mortgage business development officer of its Old Town branch.
She brings over 25 years of experience in mortgage lending to her expanded role.
Brennan began her career working for property management companies in New York before working at New York Mortgage Corp. for five years. She then moved to Organic Inc. as corporate facilities manager for four years.
She spent another four years as a senior analyst at the New York Mortgage. After three years at GuardHill Financial Corp., she moved on to Quontic Bank in New York as vice president of mortgage lending. She remained there for seven years before becoming a self-employed mortgage compliance reviewer for a few years.
In 2022, she joined County FCU as a mortgage loan officer.
Brennan attended the State University of New York, where she received her bachelor’s degree in business administration.
“Colleen has a deep passion for helping members accomplish their dreams and achieve financial success, which is just one of the many reasons she was selected for this position,” said James Mattila, County FCU's chief operating officer.
“Her tenacity in finding the right fit for every member and overcoming issues surrounding peoples’ financial challenges is unwavering," he continued. "Her decades of experience in the industry pair well with developing lasting and successful relationships with members, realtors and title companies alike.”
Brennan said, “I firmly believe that homeownership brings financial stability for our members and their families. Beyond that, homeownership delivers huge benefits to the communities we are committed to serving daily.
"My new role offers the amazing opportunity to combine my 25-plus years of lending experience with these beliefs and I am truly honored to play a role in the growth of the County.”
The County FCU serves Aroostook, Penobscot and Piscataquis counties with branches in Bangor, Caribou, Fort Fairfield, Mars Hill, Houlton, Howland, Old Town and Presque Isle.
The County FCU has $459.3 million in total deposits and ranks No. 7 among the largest Maine-based credit unions, based on deposits as of Sept. 30, 2023, according to the 2024 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
