Threshers Brewing Co. in Searsmont got started in 2016 and is already expanding, with plans to add a tasting room and restaurant in Thomaston.
PenBay Pilot reported the brewery will open the tasting room and restaurant in May at 1 Starr St. in Thomaston, in what had been Billy’s Tavern.
Owned by Ethan Evangelos and Scott Bendtson, the company is a “farm-style brewery,” according to its website. Retrofitted inside an old lumber yard, the goal was to create an “off-the-beaten-path destination-style brewery.” The owners engineered the equipment themselves, re-purposing and reusing materials from dairy farms, potters and other sources.
Last October, Threshers was one of five Maine craft brewers spotlighted by outdoor retailer L.L.Bean in its "Bean Boots and Brews” event.
