The annual University of Maine at Augusta Architecture Program show is on display at the Danforth Gallery of the school’s Augusta campus.

Every year the program, the only five-year professional architecture degree program in the state, holds a show to exhibit student works. The exhibition includes design projects, scale models, collaborative community projects, analysis of existing buildings and thesis investigations.

Taking the student projects from the classroom to the gallery exhibit allows students’ families and the community to see and appreciate the efforts by the students, organizers said in a news release.

“Everyone looks forward to this annual exhibit, said Eric Stark, Architecture Program coordinator and associate professor of architecture. “It is an excellent opportunity for students to share their work and show how their projects connect UMA to the community.”

The program recently got a boost with a $10,000 donation from the Maine Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The money will establish a special fund that will support a variety of activities within program, including speakers, providing special programing, and defraying student conference costs. The money will also support student scholarships and faculty initiatives.

A reception will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at the gallery, where students will discuss their works with the public. The works will be on display through Thursday, Feb. 28.
