A Portland-based maker of cheesecakes, Izzy’s Cheesecake, said it is being sold in an additional 30 Whole Foods stores, giving it a total of 40 in five New England states.
“It was just about a year ago when we announced that Izzy’s Cheesecake would first be available in select Whole Foods stores,” said Jim Chamoff, president of Izzy’s Cheesecake. “Now, a year later, we’ve quadrupled our Whole Foods store availability. … We look forward to our continued growth in the Whole Foods chain.”
For Whole Foods, Izzy’s is in five states in New England; the grocery chain does not have any Vermont locations. Izzy’s Cheesecake also is served and available in more than 200 restaurants, grocery stores and retail establishments throughout New England.
As a result of the growth into more Whole Foods stores, Izzy’s said it has added to its Portland-based workforce, but did not provide specific numbers.
Izzy’s, founded in 1985, makes 37 flavors of cheesecake including gluten-free options.
