Wood to retire as Portland Chamber CEO
Godfrey Wood, CEO of the Portland Regional Chamber, will retire from his post at the end of the month.
Wood has served in that position for 15 years, leading the business organization that has more than 1,300 members in the greater Portland area and an annual budget of $1.2 million.
According to a press release, James Cohen, chairman of the chamber's board of directors, said the organization will start the search process for a replacement immediately.
In a prepared statement, Wood said he thinks change will be good for the 158-year-old organization He said he looks forward to his next opportunity and new challenges following his retirement.
