Wright Express adding 100 jobs

A new partnership between Wright Express, the South Portland-based provider of payment processing for commercial vehicle fleets, and credit-card company Citi is expected to bring scores of jobs to Maine.

Wright Express yesterday said it agreed to handle the processing of selected oil company-branded credit cards issued by Citi, the parent company of Citibank, according to a press release. The agreement means more work for Wright Express, which employs more than 675 people. The company plans to hire an additional 100 people, Michael Dubyak, president and chief executive officer of the company, told the Portland Press Herald.

Citi and Wright Express were in direct competition prior to the agreement, the Press Herald reported.
