Arundel Barn Playhouse to be sold
The building housing the Arundel Barn Playhouse is in the process of being sold to owners that plan on creating a live music venue.
The theater’s producer and artistic director, Adrienne Grant, announced the pending sale Sunday on the Arundel Barn Playhouse’s Facebook page. Grant thanked people who supported the theater over the last 18 years, and said that the new owners plan to “bring another new life to the beautiful, historic Smith Sisters Farm Barn.”
Grant cited physical and emotional challenges and a recent illness in leading to the decision to sell the property at 53 Old Post Road in Arundel.
Grant founded the summer theater in 1997, specializing in family musicals, according to the Portland Press Herald, which reported the news Monday.
