Turf Doctor, a family-owned lawn care company at 60 Industrial Drive in Augusta, has been acquired by Kennewick, Wash.-based Senske Services, in its expansion to New England.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded by Michael Russo in 1997, Turf Doctor provides a wide range of lawn care solutions, including fertilization, weed control and pest management.
“I am confident that Senske is the ideal partner to carry on the legacy of Turf Doctor,” Russo said in a news release. “Their commitment to customer service and environmental responsibility aligns perfectly with the values that have defined our company.”
Senske was founded in 1947 and serves over 80,000 residential and commercial customers. Since securing investments from a Chicago-based private equity firm, GTCR, in 2022, Senske has added 10 brands to its portfolio. The company now serves customers in 14 states across the U.S. as well as in Canada. Senske's growth strategy includes international expansion and partnerships with home services companies.
Senske’s offerings include lawn care, pest control and home services. The acquisition of Turf Doctor complements Senske’s growth across the U.S., the company said.
“Michael Russo and his team have built an outstanding organization, and we look forward to continuing their tradition of excellence in lawn care and pest control services,” said Casey Taylor, Senske’s CEO.
Turf Doctor will operate under Senske’s Blades of Green division with Brad Leahy, COO of Blades of Green, overseeing both operations.
“We look forward to continuing to grow and add more states in the Northeast,” said Leahy.
