The city of Bath will have a new indoor community meeting space to accommodate businesspeople, residents and visitors during the pandemic.
Beacon Park, as it will be known, will open Nov. 9 in the Grant Building, at 31 Centre St.
The community space will provide residents and visitors with a place to safely meet as the city’s small businesses practice COVID-19 precautions. Beacon Park will have wi-fi and and will include an air-filtration system and bathroom access. It will offer seating and workspace for up to 50 people practicing social distancing.
Bath Iron Works, which is sponsoring the space, collaborating with the city, Main Street Bath, Sagadahoc Real Estate Association and Union + Co, Bath’s remote workplace. BIW announced the collaboration in a news release.
BIW, which is owned by General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), will also conduct recruiting and job interviews there.
