On Friday, Breeze Airways, a domestic low-fare airline, debuted its seasonal summer and fall service from Portland’s International Jetport to Pittsburgh and Norfolk.

The introductory fare to Norfolk from Portland began on June 2, with fares on Thursday and Sunday starting at $75 and BreezeThru service Wednesday and Saturday starting June 28.

Introductory fares for Pittsburgh will run through the summer and fall, starting at $79 for flights on Monday and Friday.

“Breeze just debuted in Maine two weeks ago, and we already offer our Portland guests six great destinations going into the summer,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO. “We know guests will enjoy our product offering on this new route to Pittsburgh as the only Nice Low Cost Carrier in the aviation industry.”

From Portland, Breeze also serves Charleston, SC, New York-Islip, NY, Norfolk, Va., and Orlando and Tampa, Fla.

Passengers may choose from three fare bundles called Nice, Nicer and Nicest; the latter is only available on Airbus A220 aircraft. Guests also have an a la carte option to choose a "Nice" or "Nicer" bundle and add a first-class seat.

The promotional fare is only available for new reservations and must be purchased by April 24 for travel by Sept. 3. The price displayed includes taxes and government fees. Fare prices, rules, routes and schedules are subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply.

Founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, Utah-based Breeze Airways began service in May 2021. One year later, it was ranked the No. 2 U.S. best domestic airline of 2021 by Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards.
