British firm opens Bucksport facility
Waymouth Northumbria, a British-based specialty engineering firm, has opened its first U.S.-based manufacturing facility in Bucksport.
The new facility, Rowenters LLC, is located in the Buckstown Heritage Park and will serve as a warehouse and distribution center for the company's North American customers, according to a press release. It also will produce parts for other manufacturing industries. Waymouth Northumbria President Roger Peter said employment at the new facility would be determined once the company identified its production needs, according to the release.
Bucksport's economic development department, as well as Maine & Co., a Portland-based firm that specializes in attracting companies to Maine, both worked to bring Rowenters to Bucksport.
