FieldStack LLC, a Portland lean retail software company founded by Bull Moose founder Brett Wickard in 2013, said Thursday it has signed a deal to integrate and resell its software in rugged mobile computers from Woodbury, N.Y.-based Janam Technologies LLC.

“This concept was on our road map for development this year. We determined that a wireless handheld unit would increase the efficiency of our clients’ warehouse, inventory management, receiving at the store level and omni channel/unified commerce fulfillment,” FieldStack Vice President Michael Stefanakos wrote in an email responding to questions from Mainebiz. FieldStack’s lean retail software, developed from inventory experiences at Bull Moose, helps retail clients manage inventory on store shelves and control costs.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Stefanakos said FieldStack will resell Janam’s XM5 rugged mobile computer with FieldStack’s software integrated into them.

“For clients who adopt our hardware plan, we will include this product and integration with our service. For other clients we will make it easy for them to acquire these devices,” he wrote, adding that the Janam product was the only one that was fast and powerful enough to meet FieldStack’s specifications. FieldStack already is deploying the units to some existing customers.

Stefanakos said the Janam partnership will help FieldStack customers increase the efficiency of their product flow.

FieldStack also has a hardware relationship with Touch Dynamic of Irvington, N.J., for the FieldStack touch screen point-of-sale systems. Stefanakos said FieldStack will soon announce And we will soon be announcing a partnership with TSYS and PAX Technology Inc. of Columbus, Ga., for integrated chip (Europay, MasterCard and Visa or EMV) credit card processing systems and terminals.

“The idea with all of these partnerships is to provide our clients the most complete solution possible,” Stefanakos said.
