Canadian IT firm opening Saco office

A $30 million Canadian IT services company is opening its first U.S. office in Saco and has tapped Maine IT veteran B.J. Carter to run it.

T4G announced this morning it will open an office at the new Saco Island development, with plans to hire up to a dozen people, according to the Portland Press Herald. The company has clients in the United States, including Macy's and L.L.Bean, and wants to establish a "strong physical presence" to continue to drive growth, President Geoff Flood said in a press release. The U.S. office will focus on the energy, health, government and utilities sectors.

Carter, T4G's U.S. managing director, most recently served as the managing director of Canadian IT firm Bell Aliant/xwave. He was also president and COO of Inacom, formerly Valcom, and chief information officer at the Maine Technical College System from 1998-2000, according to the release.

T4G has about 230 employees in Canada, according to the paper.
