Chair of BNAS redevelopment steps down

The lawyer who led redevelopment efforts for the Brunswick Naval Air Station is leaving his post.

Martin Wilk, an attorney at Eaton Peabody, resigned Dec. 26 as chair of the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority, the Associated Press reported. The MRRA, the successor to the Brunswick Local Redevelopment Authority, is working to implement a re-use plan for the base in time for its 2011 closure.

With the MRRA relocating this month from downtown Brunswick to a site on the base, Wilk said he felt it was "the right time" for new leadership, The Times Record reported. The MRRA hasn't named Wilk's replacement, the paper said.
