Comcast considers selling Maine systems

Comcast Corp., a Philadelphia-based cable provider that serves the Brunswick area, is exploring the sale of some of its Maine-based holdings as part of a plan to sell 46 properties nationwide.

Municipal officials in several towns told The Times Record in Brunswick that they had been contacted by a senior manager at Comcast who said the company was looking to sell some of its Maine holdings in the Bath-Brunswick area. But Comcast spokesman John Demming wouldn't confirm whether any systems are for sale, according to the paper. Comcast took over the Maine holdings from Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff Co., or SusCom, in 2006.

Comcast serves 11 towns in the Bath-Brunswick area.
