"Greenlight Maine," the Maine television show in which entrepreneurs compete for prize money to put into their businesses, has revealed its Season Five lineup and schedule.

The Pine Tree state's answer to "Shark Tank" is produced by Portland Media Group and airs on Maine's NBC affiliates WCSH and WLBZ, featuring  business owners making pitches before judges in taped episodes.

In Season 4, edible seaweed products maker Ocean Balance beat Flowfold and American Roots to win the $100,000 grant prize. That season's finale was recorded before an audience at the University of Maine's Hauck Auditorium in Orono. (All three were represented in Mainebiz's Executive Insights Forum panel last week.)

The three made the final cut last season out of more than 60 prospective startups that auditioned online and via live casting calls. That number was then whittled down to 26 who competed during the season. KinoTek won last year's Collegiate Challenge.

This season's "Greenlight Maine" lineup includes Boots2Roots, a nonprofit organization led by Mainebiz 2017 Next list honoree Jen Fullmer; Fyood Kitchen, an organizer of social cooking contests founded and run by Mainebiz 2018 Next honoree Maddie Purcell at Fork Food Lab; and MaineWorks, led by 2014 Mainebiz Woman to Watch honoree Margo Walsh.
