Hollywood Casino on record revenue track

Bangor's Hollywood Casino, which added table games this year, is on track for record revenue numbers despite competition from a new casino in Oxford.

The Bangor Daily News reported that, by the beginning of December, the casino was within $1 million of the $59.5 million it generated in 2011.

Casino general manager John Osborne told the paper he expects revenues of around $4.5 million for the month, which would put the casino above its 2010 record of $61.7 million in revenue.

Meanwhile, Oxford Casino has netted $31.7 million since opening in June.

Osborne told the paper that traffic to the Bangor casino from southern Maine had slowed slightly and he attributed the increased revenue to more advertising in Nova Scotia.
