LePage chooses transition team

Governor-elect Paul LePage has named a three-person transition team to assist him in developing a staff for his administration.

During a news conference Friday, LePage named Tarren Bragdon, CEO of the Maine Heritage Policy Center; John Butera, executive director of the Central Maine Growth Council; and Ann Robinson, a partner at law firm Preti Flaherty, as his transition team, according to the Portland Press Herald. He also said that John McGough, South Portland's director of human resources and manager of general assistance, will be his chief of staff, and he will endorse Bruce Poliquin, who ran as a Republican candidate for governor but lost the primary bid, as state treasurer.

LePage said the transition team will reach out to businesses, trade organizations and economic development groups to gauge their concerns and find solutions to their problems, according to the paper.
