L.L.Bean is moving to a larger production facility in Lewiston in order to meet customer demand for its iconic boots.
The Sun Journal reported the move will also mean the addition of more employees, with 140 expected to be in place by the end of 2017.
Spokeswoman Carolyn Beem told the paper the company sold more than 600,000 pairs of Bean boots in 2016, is forecasting 700,000 pairs for 2017 and "probably 1 million in 2018."
L.L.Bean leased the former VIP warehouse in Lewiston with plans to move its Westminster Street Bean boot-making operations there this spring.
