Mid-Maine Chamber postpones B2B trade show until next year

The Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce has postponed its Business to Business Showcase, billed as central Maine’s largest trade show, until the spring.

The event was originally slated for last March at the Colby College Field House in Waterville. But as with many gatherings, the pandemic forced plans to change.

The chamber had expected this year’s showcase to draw over 2,000 attendees and a sold-out roster of 140 exhibitors, according to the group’s website.

In a news release, the chamber said it has not yet set the 2021 date for the event, but will hold booth reservations for this year’s exhibitors and honor their registrations and prepaid fees.

“It is disappointing, both for the businesses and the chamber, that we are unable to hold this highly successful event. However, the person-to-person experience is simply not possible in our current environment,” said the organization’s president and CEO, Kim Lindlof.

Sponsors of the Business to Business Showcase include Are You Ready to Party?, the Central Maine Growth Council, Central Maine Motors Auto Group, Colby College, Kennebec Savings Bank and Maine Technology Group. Mainebiz serves as the media sponsor.

The Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce is a Waterville-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting business prosperity and economic improvement in the communities of Albion, Belgrade, Benton, Branch Mills, Burnham, China, Clinton, Fairfield, Hinckley, Oakland, Rome, Shawmut, Sidney, Thorndike, Unity, Vassalboro, Waterville, Weeks Mills and Winslow.
