Navy extends gun contract

The United States Navy has given a Saco gun manufacturer an additional $7,800,000 to produce automatic gun systems for fighter jets.

In 2005, the Navy first awarded $10 million to General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, a unit of General Dynamics based in Falls Church, Va., to make the M61A2 20mm automatic Gatling gun systems, according to a press release. This was followed by a $12.5 million extension in 2006.
