Norway Savings Bank has promoted three employees to key management roles.
Melissa Rock of Bridgton has been promoted to vice president, marketing director. She joined the bank in 2017 as vice president and marketing communications officer. In her new role, she will oversee the bank’s marketing and brand strategies. Rock will work closely with Karen Hakala, the senior marketing officer, as Hakala prepares for retirement in 2025 after a 28-year career with the bank.
Rock's prior experience includes corporate communications, client experience and community impact. She also led the bank’s digital delivery team for five years. Rock is a certified financial marketing professional who recently graduated from the New England School of Financial Studies.
Ryan Dillingham of Norway has been promoted to vice president and information technology manager. In his new role, he will take on more responsibility and leadership in overseeing technology operations and personnel management. He will play an active role in strategic planning, budgeting, project management, future infrastructure implementations and IT vendor relationship management.
Dillingham joined the bank in 2007 as an IT help desk support before moving through the ranks in the department.
He holds several technical designations, including certified virtualization expert, certified ethical hacker and certified AWS cloud systems operations administrator. He continues to advance his leadership skills in and outside the bank.
Frank Farrell has been promoted to vice president and information systems manager. He will continue to manage mainframe operations, while expanding his oversight of critical information systems applications, including database servers and related architectures, assist in strategic planning, budgeting and project management. He will also be a key player in vendor management.
The Minot resident joined the bank in 2013 as a software support specialist in the IT department. His extensive background, education and IT experience allowed Farrell to acclimate to the IT team and related responsibilities quickly.
Farrell received his bachelor’s degree in industrial technology with a minor in computer science from the University of Southern Maine. He also holds several certifications, including CompTIA A+ and Network +, Microsoft certified systems administrator, VMWare certified professional and certified virtualization professional and is a LabTech certified professional.
Norway Savings Bank has $1.5 billion in total deposits. The bank is No. 7 among the largest Maine-based banks, based on deposits as of June 30, 2022, according to the 2023 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
