Plum Creek says yes

Plum Creek has accepted the revisions suggested by Maine's state land use regulators and will move forward with a development plan for its massive resort project for the Moosehead Lake region.

The Land Use Regulation Commission kept the most controversial parts of Plum Creek's resort plan intact -- the 975 house lots and development on Lily Bay -- and requires the company to conserve more than 400,000 acres of forest in the Moosehead Lake area.

Catherine Carroll, the commission's executive director, told Mainebiz the commission will continue to work with Plum Creek on secondary issues, such as vegetation clearing and conservation details, and that the commission will likely make its final decision on a conceptual development proposal by early next year.
