United Insurance, an independent Portland-based insurance agency, has hired Tammy Volock as chief financial officer.
In this role, Volock will manage the accounting department and oversee finance-related activities for all 14 United Insurance offices. As a member of the executive leadership team member, Volock will also advise on the organization’s strategic plan.
“As United Insurance continues to expand our footprint in the Northeast, it’s essential that we maintain a strong financial foundation,” said Zack Frechette, president and CEO of United Insurance, in a news release.
“With the addition of Tammy to our executive leadership team, we’re well positioned for future growth opportunities.”
Volock has over 20 years of experience in organizations ranging from payroll service providers and yacht manufacturers to environmental service consultants and insurance agencies.
She has held various financial-specific management roles, including positions in the insurance industry at Turner Barker, where she was the accounting and office manager. Most recently, she served as controller for Clark Insurance, a Marsh and McLellan Agency.
“I am thrilled to join United Insurance at such an exciting time,” Volock told Mainebiz. “We have a great team here that I’m excited to help be even more successful.
Volock received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern Maine and has a certificate in human resources management.
Headquartered in Portland, United Insurance consists of 175 professionals working in 14 locations throughout Maine and New Hampshire. The agency provides personal, business and employee benefits insurance solutions and risk management services to over 35,000 clients.
