In the role, Joy Moody will oversee more than 500 nurses at the hospital. She will continue to cover the emergency department and behavioral health services at Maine Medical Center. She started her new role on June 26.
She has served as nursing vice president of Maine Medical Center since 2017, with leadership roles across multiple areas including emergency and inpatient units. Maine Medical Center is MaineHealth's flagship hospital, based in Portland.
“I am excited to join the team at Southern Maine Health Care," said Moody. "This nursing team is extremely talented and I am already impressed by the ongoing efforts of the teams to provide the best care for our patients. The nurses at SMHC are truly dedicated to caring for the people of York County and I am thrilled to be part of this team.”
Moody earned her bachelor's and master’s of science in nursing from the University of New Hampshire.
