T-Mobile call center hiring

T-Mobile's Oakland call center will host a job fair Thursday to try and fill around 100 full-time jobs and expand its existing staff of over 400.

The company announced the move Friday, according to the Morning Sentinel. The company said it is looking for more workers due to increased call volume at the  call center and is offering pay between $11.73 and $13.95, the Sentinel reported.

The latest hiring effort could add to the 1,000 jobs hosted at the call center's business park – FirstPark, a 285-acre Pine Tree Zone created by 24 member towns in 2000 with expectations its business tenants could provide 3,000 jobs.

As a result of that Pine Tree Zone designation, the Sentinel reported, T-Mobile received $2.9 million in tax breaks between 2005 and 2010 based on the number of employees at the location.
