This year's top winners of the "Best Places to Work in Maine" in all three categories are companies that have consistently made the list each year, including Dechra, Machias Savings Bank, Allagash Brewing Co., and iBec Creative Inc.
The designation by Best Companies Group recognizes businesses that have established and consistently fostered outstanding workplace environments. The assessment process administered by the independent research firm evaluated each company's employee policies and procedures and surveyed responses from employees.
Now in its 17th year conducting surveys about Maine, the program saw 100 organizations named to the list for the second year.
Taking the No. 1 spot in the large-company category with 250 or more U.S. employees was Consigli Construction Co., Inc. moving up from its spot at No. 9 in 2021. Consigli is a fourth-generation construction engineering company founded in 1905. Its headquarters are located in Milford, Mass.
Patriot Subaru, which is based in Saco and is the largest Subaru dealer in the state, took top honors in the medium employer category with 50 to 249 U.S. employees.
Acadia Benefits attained the top spot among smaller businesses with 15-49 national employees. The locally owned insurance agency specializes in employee benefits. The company started in 1990 and has provided brokerage and consulting services to its customers throughout Northern New England for 30 years.
