Unity College president resigns

Mitchell Thomashow has resigned as president of Unity College President after nearly five years on the job.

The college's board of trustees announced his resignation but did not specify why he's leaving, according to the Republican Journal. During his tenure, Thomashow, 61, helped lead an overhaul of the college's academic programs and efforts to make the college more sustainable and carbon-neutral. Unity was included in the first national guide to the most environmentally responsible, green colleges by The Princeton Review and the U.S. Green Building Council.

The college plans to begin a search for a new president immediately, and hopes to find a replacement by mid-summer, according to the paper.
