Yarmouth tech firm gets venture funding

A company in Yarmouth that makes veterinary equipment this week received $250,000 in venture capital.

Pet Health Network received the infusion of cash from the Small Enterprise Growth Fund in Brunswick, a $9-million venture capital fund established by the state Legislature in 1996. The SEGF announced the deal yesterday.

Pet Health Network makes a touch-screen computer system for veterinary exam rooms, so veterinarians can explain medical treatments more clearly to pet owners. The company was founded two years ago by Todd Paige, who previously worked for Idexx Laboratories in Westbrook.
