South Portland-based coffee chain Aroma Joe’s is on an expansion streak.
This year’s growth included a second location added in Augusta, a second location in Kittery, a shop in the Androscoggin County town of Turner and plans by the chain’s founders, Brian and Mike Sillon, to relocate their Berwick location to the $50 million Edge at Berwick development.
Now plans are in the works for Aroma Joe’s franchisee Bob Brennan to open a location at 214 Madison Ave. in Skowhegan.
Brennan bought the former KeyBank branch building from KeyBank NA for an undisclosed price. The list price was $325,000.
KeyBank was represented by Jon Rizzo and Sasha Phillips of the Boulos Co. and Kristen Schneider of JLL. Brennan was represented by Chris Gallagher and Joe Italiaander, also of the Boulos Co.
The 3,044-square-foot retail/office building, built in 1962, is expected to be a successful location for the coffee shop, located on a main corridor out of town that has traffic counts of 16,496 cars per day, according to the listing. The property, on half an acre, includes 30 on-site parking spaces in addition, a drive-through and excellent signage capability.
Brennan already operates three Aroma Joe’s in Maine and New Hampshire, with another seven, including Skowhegan, expected to open soon in Maine and Florida.
With over 100 locations, the walk-up and drive-through Aroma Joe’s shops feature coffee, espresso, energy drinks, soft drinks and food options.
When will they be hiring?
