Bar Harbor Bank & Trust promotes longtime employee to leadership role
Bar Harbor Bank & Trust has promoted Abby Welch to branch relationship manager at its Northeast Harbor location.
Welch will lead the retail banking team there, providing solutions and guidance to help individuals, families and businesses in the community meet their financial goals.
She spent nearly 10 years in health care before transitioning into banking. In 2021, she joined the bank as a floating customer service representative. She was based in the Somesville branch and worked part-time at the Northeast Harbor branch.
During her time with the bank, Welch took on roles with increasing responsibility, earning a promotion to a floating personal banker in 2024.
The Ellsworth resident received her nursing degree at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She also received a certificate in fraud prevention from the Center for Financial Training & Education Alliance and is a notary public for the State of Maine.
