Fire destroys Lincoln News building

The office of a local weekly newspaper in northern Maine was destroyed by fire late yesterday.

The building, home to Lincoln News and Lincoln News Print Services, was a total loss, and the printing press, computers and files of the newspaper were heavily damaged, according to the Bangor Daily News. No cause has been determined, and an investigator from the State Fire Marshal's Office is planning to visit the scene today.

It was unclear what would happen to the building or the newspaper. The paper employs 20 people and has a circulation of over 6,000, mostly in the Katahdin and Lincoln Lakes regions, according to the Daily News and news channel WGME 13.
