Idexx expands in Tenn.

Idexx Laboratories is building a new lab in Memphis, Tenn., because of shipping advantages.
The Westbrook-based biotech company is building an 8,000-square-foot lab next to its existing Memphis distribution facility, according to the Memphis Business Journal. The new lab, the company's first in the area, will create 50 new jobs. Idexx currently employs 42 at the 100,000-square-foot distribution facility.
The new lab should be completed by January 2009 and will have the same shipping advantages FedEx Corp. offers the company's distribution facility, the Memphis Business Journal reported.
